HX-VM-05
Higher Certificate in Vineyard Mechanisation
One year to become the person a wine estate trusts with the tractor, the sprayer, the trellis and the pruning crew.
Overview
Mechanisation is not about buying machines. It is about timing.
Labour availability, cost and precision are reshaping how vineyards are managed. This one-year certificate trains the operator-supervisor who makes mechanisation work: tractors and implements, canopy machines, sprayers, mechanical pruning and the sensors that let you see whether any of it worked.
It is the shortest route into a technical vineyard career and the most practical qualification we offer. Half of your time is on the estate, half in the workshop. It is also the standard bridging route into the diploma and degree programmes for students who did not take Mathematics at school.
- Tractor operation, safety and implement matching
- Sprayer calibration, nozzle selection and drift management
- Canopy management machines and mechanical pruning
- Precision agriculture tools in the vineyard
